LESSONS |
|
I teach from the Rockschool and RGT grade syllabuses. In addition I will help you to learn songs by your favourite bands & musicians - the songs that YOU want to learn. Lessons are taught by Dave Allott, Proprietor. I have been playing guitar, both bass and lead, for over 30 years. I still perform live music on a regular basis, on lead & bass guitar and double bass. Over the years I have performed in bands playing just about every style of music. I teach on a one-to-one basis and am a member of the Musicians Union. I have Public Liability Insurance and a current CRB Certificate, both of which can be inspected on request. Guitarists and bassists of all levels and ages are welcome, including beginners. You can ring me on 01262 608108 or 07976 894038, or email dave@redbamboomusic.com |

TEACHING METHODS |

Electric Guitar and Bass
Acoustic Guitar Studying these grade syllabuses will help you become a musician rather than just someone who can play a number of songs well. You will learn the theory and practical exercises that form the building blocks of your craft. Learning songs by your favourite banbds & musicians will hopefully give you the "fun" element that you need to stay motivated, and is the practical application of the theory you learn. Both Rockschool and RGT's Grade 6, 7 & 8 exams count towards UCAS points which help with entry to university. The number of points the candidate will receive is based on their grade and mark, and range from 25 for a Grade 6 pass to 75 for a Grade 8 Distinction. Further information about Rockschool and RGT can be found by clicking on the logos above. A couple of Rockschool
success stories: "Rockschool student Aaron Jacques recently took Grade 5 bass and passed with a distinction, at only 15 years old this is an amazing achievement for any aspiring young bassist, and to top it off he also features in this month's Bass Guitar Magazine." |

SUCCESS STORIES |

A YOUNG BRIDLINGTON
musician has secured a much-coveted place at London's prestigious
Academy of Contemporary Music.
Guitarist Jordan Fairie, who cites his influences as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Steve Vai, auditioned to the centre to study for a degree in the instrument and said he was "really amazed" at being accepted. He can now look forward to a career in music saying: "I want to be the best I can be", and while he has not chosen a specific path yet, it has always been his dream to play with Eric Clapton. Jordan has been playing the guitar for only two-and-a-half years and is currently studying at East Riding College where he is thoroughly enjoying learning about every aspect of music. The young musician thanked Dave Allott, his guitar teacher, and Robin Tait, his music theory teacher, who helped him achieve this. Jordan currently plays with local band Castles Made of Sand. |
